Walk with Ease focuses on decreasing pain associated with arthritis increasing strength, balance, walking pace and technique and improving one’s confidence in their ability to walk and improve self-efficacy. Walk with Ease: This six-week program meets three times a week for an hour. Participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance. This program meets two to three times a week for 12 weeks.SAIL focuses on improving the flexibility, balance and strength of the participants while reducing their fall risk factors.Ī Matter of Balance: This is an eight-week structured group intervention that focuses on implementing practical strategies to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels for older adults. ![]() The primary target audience is community-dwelling older adults and people with a history of falls. Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL): SAIL is a strength, balance and fitness program for adults 65 and older. Tai Chi for Arthritis : This a free, evidence-based fall prevention program that focuses on movement control, weight transference and the integration of mind and body. It meets twice a week for an hour over the span of eight weeks. Benefits of this program include improved physical condition, muscle strength, coordination and flexibility.
